CHRIS LING
Photographers.Sound & Pictures

In the 16 years that he’s been a lens man, Chris has travelled overseas an average of fi ve times a year, with Europe and Australia topping his list of destinations.

Personal Faves: “The old world architecture of Europe,
especially Paris and Venice, makes for beautiful compositions. In
contrast, Sydney is a bustling metropolis with a modern feel. The
climates of these seasonal countries are also a plus. Go during the
cooler seasons and you won’t perspire like you do in humid Singapore!”

Style: “Vibrant, with each image having a ‘voice’. I focus on
the details to make sure the composition is picture perfect. I make
sure to engage my couples so we all have fun. When couples relax and
enjoy themselves, it shows in the pictures.”

Up next: “We’re headed for Sydney again, as well as Dubai. I’m
looking forward to Dubai as it’s be the first time I’ll be shooting
there. There are many new developments in that technologicallyadvanced
city, and the beautiful waterfronts will look fascinating in print.”

Accolades: Wong Tze Chin and his wife Li Hoon chose to go to
Sydney for their wedding photography to relive their courtship days.
Tze Chin explains: “I got my degree there and Li Hoon used to visit me
during the holidays. We love the colours of Sydney and decided it’d be
perfect to capture the places where we would usually hang-out when she
came to visit, such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Observatory Hill.
We relived these good memories during the shoot.”

Rates: Shoots in Europe or Japan cost between $7,000 and $8,000.
A shoot in Australia costs about $5,000. Asian city packages range from
$3,500 to $4,500. Prices include a wedding album, Chris’ airfare and
accommodation.
