COURTING ACTION: THE ARTS HOUSE

Hold court with your guests at the historic former Parliament House building, now a popular venue for events and weddings with its neo-Palladian architecture and intimate room settings, which are both classic and romantic.

One couple who held their solemnisation ceremony here in the former Parliamentary Debating Chamber are 30somethings Tong Yee and Cynthia.

“We wanted our wedding to run on the metaphor of what Parliament House represented. That a group of people who loved their country came together, talked, worked, and built an amazing work of solidarity and blessing to others,” shares Tong Yee. “Guests loved the venue. The Chamber was awe-inspiring and the sense of history added drama and meaning to the wedding.”

And the walk through history doesn’t have to end there. For a lunch or dinner reception, host an intimate standing cocktail in the elegant Blue Room, in the multi-purpose Living Room or opt for a sit-down dinner for 100 in the grandeur of the Gallery.

Appointed caterers, Viet Lang and Restaurant 1827, offer a wide variety of international cuisine – from Western and Spanish, to Vietnamese and Chinese. For Tong Yee and Cynthia, friends and family had nothing but praise for the place.
