Shooting Far and Wide

Exotic Colours, Friendly Folk
Destination: Marrakech, Morocco
At the crossroads of Africa, Europe and the Middle East, this vibrant city is intoxicating for its sheer variety of sights and landscapes, from endless deserts to busy markets and traditional homes. Marrakech, also known as the Red City because of the reddish-pink stones of its buildings, is great for its vibrant colours and friendly folks, says photographer Loh Eng Hong of 39 East Photography.
When quantity surveyor Wong Yuet Leng, 32, and her auditor hubby Kelvin Tng, 31, wanted a unique location for their wedding shoot in May last year, they immediately thought of Marrakech. She says: “We’ve been to Marrakech and fell in love with the place. The country has great cultural character, beautiful architecture and an exotic feel to its street life, which we find very romantic. We wanted to capture its essence in our photos.”
